Burdick’s aging utilities and infrastructure are being renovated to make the building more efficient and prepare for future additions. The entire HVAC system will be replaced with a more energy-efficient system using chilled water produced at the central utility plant. The project will also replace lower roofs and associated rooftop mechanical units. New sprinklers, window walls and exterior doors will be installed, and the entire building envelope will be renovated.
West Village Phase 3 & 4
Estimated completion: summer 2016
Two new residence halls are being constructed in the West Village area to provide apartment-style accommodations for approximately 700 upper level students. The buildings will be located west of Towson Run apartments and Douglass House. Combined, they will contain 325,500 gross square feet of space, including a mix of two-and four bedroom apartments with single-occupancy bedrooms and shared bathroom, kitchen and living space. Each floor will have communal lounges as well as meeting rooms for studying.
