TU in Northeastern MD

$28 million

Estimated completion: August 2014

TU is constructing a 60,000 gross square foot building on the campus of Harford County Community College to support the TU in Northeastern Maryland (TUNE) program, which improves access to baccalaureate degree programs for students in the region. The building provides academic and support space to seamlessly transition students from two- to four-year degree programs.

Burdick Hall Renovations

$15 million

Estimated completion: August 2014

Burdick’s aging utilities and infrastructure are being renovated to make the building more efficient and prepare for future additions. The entire HVAC system will be replaced with a more energy-efficient system using chilled water produced at the central utility plant. The project will also replace lower roofs and associated rooftop mechanical units. New sprinklers, window walls and exterior doors will be installed, and the entire building envelope will be renovated.

Campus Site & Safety Phase II

$16.3 million

Estimated completion: September 2014

This project focuses on making two key areas of TU’s campus easier and safer to navigate. It involves the design and construction of a pedestrian bridge above Osler Drive that will make it safer for students to get from the West Village residential area to the main academic precinct, plus adding recreational space in the area and a new traffic light on Osler Drive. The second component is the design and construction of a pedestrian walkway from the southeastern end of Linthicum Hall (closest to “the beach”) east along Cook Library to Newell Hall.
