Strong faculty and staff participation in the Towson Fund through leadership gifts at the Founders Society level reflect an important commitment to the university. In 2013, 89 colleagues stepped forward to become Founders Society members. They represented faculty and staff at all levels at the university.
You may designate your 2014 contribution to the college or program of your choice. Every college, department and program relies on annual support in order to sustain and strengthen Towson’s unique opportunities.
Payroll deduction forms are a convenient way for employees to make a gift. Email Director of the Annual Campaign at email@example.com and a form will be mailed to you.
Gifts also may be made by credit card or check. Installment payments are easy to arrange and an excellent means to make a Founders Society level gift; please click here for options.
Hear in their own words why two of our faculty staff co-chairs choose to contribute:
For the past few years, we have all experienced difficult economic times, which have made it more challenging to make giving a priority. At the same time, I believe most of us have either had or heard of a conversation with a student who is struggling to find the means to stay in school, to buy books, to purchase food. . . simply to make ends meet. With decreasing state funding and increasing tuition, the cost of a college education is daunting for many – and out-of-reach for others.
For me, the student stories provide compelling evidence of the value of supporting one of the many scholarship funds at TU. We enhance student success by making our contribution to one of the many foundation accounts that lets us target funds toward a personal area of interest and provides us as faculty and staff with a sense of pride.
Giving back to the university at a Founders Society level provides us with yet another opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students.
Deb Moriarty, Ph. D., Vice President for Student Affairs Towson University
I choose to support TU at the Founders Society level because I think it is vital to give back to a university that has provided me with an education and a career where I can use my knowledge, skills and experience to enable students to reach their full academic and professional potential. Giving financially to Towson is a way to think about our tomorrow and to help Towson realize the future by being a very real part of the vision.
Cary E. Smedley, M.A ’08 Employer Relations Coordinator Towson University
