A city of divers e neighborhoods, Baltimore offers a fascinating mix of people, events, and activities. Located 20 minutes from the Towson University campus, the city gives you the opportunity to explore a wide range of cultural and recreational activities. Visit the Inner Harbor, home of the renowned Maryland Science Center with its IMAX movies, National Aquarium and site of Camden Yards, the Orioles baseball stadium, or explore one of the many fine museums (such as the BMA, The Walters Art Museum, Great Blacks in Wax).  Music lovers can visit a jazz club, enjoy an outdoor summer concert at the Pier Six Concert Pavilion, listen to a symphony at the Meyerhoff,  or attend the opera at the Lyric Opera House. Because Baltimore is home to many nationalities, there are also many ethnic restaurants to explore. Whether you like Thai or Korean, Afghani or Ethiopian, Chinese or Japanese, American or Indian cuisine, you will find a restaurant to suit your tastes.

Baltimore's ideal location offers you the opportunity to explore the East Coast of the United States as well. Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City are within hours of Baltimore giving you access to some of the most interesting cities in the United States.

The Baltimore area is home to many universities and college which offer a wide range of degree programs in the arts, the sciences, and the humanities. As part of the University System of Maryland, Towson University is the largest public institution in the Baltimore metropolitan area.  Johns Hopkins University, the University of Baltimore, Goucher College, Loyola College, and The College of Notre Dame are all within the area and contribute to a stimulating community environment.
