Student Organizations

Towson University SignThe Department of Family Studies and Community Development sponsors two student organizations, the Towson University Student Council on Family Relations (TUSCFR) and the Towson University Child Life Club.

TUSCFR is affiliated with the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and focuses on issues relevant to families. The purpose of the organization is to provide students with opportunities to learn from others in the field, network with students with similar interests, gain experience in a variety of community and family settings, and make a difference. It is not necessary to be a major or minor in the department to join.

The mission of the Child Life Club at Towson University is to provide an opportunity for child life undergraduate and graduate students to come together around the common interest of child life.  Members will have the opportunity to learn more about the field of child life, volunteer in area hospitals, and participate in activities that will expand their knowledge of medical illnesses, interventions, and other current child life topics.
