TU Sponsored Non-Credit Travel Abroad

TU faculty, staff or students traveling outside the United States on Towson University sponsored programs for non-credit purposes are advised to consult the resources below.

NOTE: TU does not permit university sponsored travel to countries with Department of State travel warnings.

Please note that these procedures are followed by the TU Study Abroad Office for the purpose of TU international study for credit. The resources listed are particular to study abroad and are for informational purposes only. All documents should be adjusted for non-credit purposes. Please consult the University Counsel for assistance.

To do

  • Mandatory pre-departure meeting with group leader to cover expectations, health and safety (including on-site emergency information), logistical information, etc.
  • Clearance of participants with Office of Student Conduct and Civility Education, Disability Support Services, and the Counseling Center.
  • Enrollment in international health/evacuation insurance. Visit the TU Study Abroad Office Health and Safety webpage for recommendations.
  • Check the World Health Organization website for health updates and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website to determine whether immunizations are recommended for travelers to the destination country or region.
