Incoming freshmen at Towson University are assigned to a First Year Experience (FYE) adviser. Your adviser will help you build your schedule and will answer questions about course sequencing. You'll also get information about campus resources and other special programs available to TU students.
Incoming transfer students first attend a Transfer Orientation in which they meet with a departmental advisor and register for course work. After this intial orientation, students will be assigned a departmental advisor within their major.
Students who major in one of the programs offered by the Department of Kinesiology are assigned to a faculty member in the department in their particular area of study. This faculty member serves as the student's adviser for the rest of the student's college career at Towson University.
Prior to each Fall and Spring registration period, students will have a Mandatory Advising Hold placed on their account. In March and October, Advising Sessions are held by the Department. Students will receive notification of available advising dates via email, class announcements, and flyers in the Towson Center. It is the student's responsibility to seek an appointment during this time in order to receive registration guidance and to have their Mandatory Advising Hold removed.
