1. What GPA is Towson University looking for?
We look at your weighted GPA as well as your curriculum and school profile. We prefer to see a B or B+ average or higher. Last year, 75 percent of our incoming freshman class had a weighted GPA of 3.35 or higher.
2. What SAT/ACT scores do I need?
Last year, 75 percent of our incoming freshman class had an SAT (R) score of 1520 or higher, and 75 percent of those who took the ACT had a 22 or higher.
3. Do you look at the major I select on the application as part of my admission decision?
No. We don’t consider your major when reviewing your application.
4. When can I expect to hear from Towson?
We work on a rolling basis for admissions, so once your application is complete, meaning that you have submitted your application and we have received all required documents, we will then review your application package and make a decision. Typically, you’ll hear back from us three to four weeks after we have received all required documents for your application to be sent to review. We begin mailing offers of admission on Dec. 1 and continue through the spring.

6. I would like to come visit your campus. How do I schedule a tour?
We can’t wait to show you around. We have campus tours daily, as well as scheduled open house programs in the fall and spring. Reservations are required, and you can set everything up online. You might also like to take our online virtual tour. It’s not a substitute for the real thing, but it’s a great place to start learning about Towson.
7. Is the essay required? What is the topic?
Yes, the admission essay is required. The topic can be found within the online application.
8. I am taking AP classes. Will I get credit for them?

9. Who is my admissions counselor?

10. Is housing guaranteed?
On-campus housing for freshmen admitted in the fall is guaranteed for your first two years, as long as you meet the required deadlines. On-campus housing for students admitted in the spring term is based on available space.
