Housing for International Students

On-Campus Housing

International students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of Towson's many opportunities to live on campus, as it’s a great way to make friends and stay connected with our vibrant campus culture. On-campus housing is also incredibly convenient because all the resources students need are located right here—the library, dining halls, gymnasium, academic buildings, university store and more. That’s why more than 4,700 students choose to live near the academic, social, athletic and cultural events that take place on campus every day.

Residence halls feature furnished rooms and amenities such as free high-speed Internet, cable television, unlimited local telephone service, laundry facilities, kitchen space, common rooms and lounges, and microwave/refrigerator units in every room.

Reserve On-Campus Housing for Spring 2014

The housing request system is an online process and no housing materials will be mailed to you. If you are planning to apply to live in university housing, once you have been admitted to the university you must first activate your NET ID.

Housing for the spring semester is offered on a space available basis only and is not guaranteed.  Beginning 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, students can go to the Housing and Residence Life website and click on Request Housing for information and updates regarding availability.  If housing is available, you will be instructed to log on to the housing website using your username and password in order to pay the $350 non-refundable housing deposit (VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards accepted only).  Once you complete the online request process Housing and Residence Life will confirm the receipt of your housing contract and deposit via an email sent to your TU email account.

Please feel free to email housing@towson.edu if have any questions or concerns regarding this process.

Global Village

Global Village is a special on-campus community for both domestic and international students attending Towson University. Students living in Global Village interact with people from different cultures and countries every day, sharing personal stories in the lounge, discussing course work in the study zone, or making and sharing international dishes will friends and neighbors in the large, full kitchen.

Off-Campus Housing

Off-campus living is a good choice for international students who have learned a lot about American culture and want to become more independent and self-sufficient. Living off campus can help students gain more freedom, more living space and more privacy, and it's a common option for students who are in their third and fourth year at Towson.

Towson University operates several off campus shuttle bus routes that lead to most of the nearby off-campus apartments and residential areas. The Department of Housing and Residence Life provides many resources for international students to help with living off campus, including apartment listings, the off-campus housing list, and an online search service. The department also holds advising sessions to help students with off-campus living issues.
