FALL 2014 Transfer TO-DO LIST

In order to make your transition to Towson University as smooth as possible, we have created this To-Do List with important tasks for you to complete before you start classes. Towson University will communicate important information to you using your personal email account and your TU NetID computing account. If you do not receive Towson notifications at these email addresses, please email us your full name, mailing address, and old and new email addresses with “email change” in the subject line to It is important that you check your TU and personal email account regularly for important information about your transition to Towson University.

How We Will Communicate After July 31, 2014

Effective July 31, we will no longer communicate with you at your personal email address.

Towson University departments will begin communicating with you using ONLY your TU NetID/TU email account. Notifications range in subjects and include topics such as billing, class scheduling, notifications from your professor, student club information, student activities on campus, etc. If you are not already doing so, you must check your TU email account regularly so that you are aware of and you can respond to these notifications as necessary.

Complete Before Your Transfer Program Part I Date:


2.   Activate Your NetID/TU Email Account

3.   Complete Immunization Requirements - Deadline: June 30

4.   Determine if Major is Pre-Screened

5.   Register for Transfer Program (Orientation) Parts I and II . Reservations for The July Transfer

           Program (orientation, advising and registration) are now available here

6.   Schedule Placement Testing (if notified)

7.   Accept Financial Aid Package

8.   Submit Official Transcript 

9.   Review Evaluation of Transfer Credit

10. Determine Housing Options
11. Register for Summer Trimester Courses

13.  Get Your OneCard

Complete Before Classes Begin:

14.   Review Your Online Fall Term Bill & Complete 1098-T Consent

15.   Request Disability Support Services (DSS) (if applicable)
16.   Register for Emergency Text Messaging

17.   Learn About Student Organizations

18.   Complete Housing Vaccine and Move-in Requirements
        (only if living in Millennium Hall, Paca or Tubman Houses)

19.   Determine Parking Eligibility

20.   Contact the Career Center

21.   Attend Transfer Program Part I and II

22.   Attend Disability Support Services Orientation - Event Date: August 23

23.   Purchase Textbooks

24.   Learn About How We Will Communicate With You When You Start Classes
