Begin an exercise program.

Research shows that even small amounts of regular exercise can improve your mood and lessen anxiety. For best results, work out for at least 20 minutes 4-5 days per week. And choose the activity that is right for you; any form of exercise will produce benefits. Many people feel some improvements immediately, but full benefits are usually felt after about 10 weeks.
