Sexual Misconduct

Title IX, Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), 20 U.S.C. §§ 1681 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 34 C.F.R. Part 106, prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities operated by recipients of Federal financial assistance. Towson University is committed to maintaining a campus environment that is free from discrimination based on sex. In compliance with Title IX, the University has adopted Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment policies. These policies are available at the links provided below. If you have questions regarding these policies and procedures, contact Debbie Seeberger, Title IX Coordinator, (410) 704-2360.

VAWA is a landmark piece of legislation that sought to improve criminal justice and community-based responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking in the United States. In 2013, VAWA was reauthorized with provisions that extended protection to Native American women and members of the LGBT community.
