Faculty Grants
The Office of University Research Services administers several internal grant funding programs: the Faculty Development and Research Committee Awards, the Towson Academy of Scholars and Research Fellowships.
Faculty Development and Research Committee Awards
The Faculty Development and Research Committee (FDRC), through its internal grant programs, provides opportunities for faculty members to carry out research and teaching projects. Funds may be requested as reimbursable monetary awards or as summer research fellowships. Full guidelines and application forms are provided here. There are three annual deadlines a year.They are: October 15 for spring Research and Teaching Innovation grants; February 1 for summer Research and Teaching Innovation fellowships; and March 1 for fall Research and Teaching Innovation grants. Announcements regarding deadlines are made through the Alive Line and proposal development workshops are offered prior to each deadline. Applicants are notifed of the FDRC's funding decisions within 6 weeks of each deadline.

Towson Academy of Scholars
The purpose of the Towson Academy of Scholars is to gather senior-mentors with junior faculty in a seminar setting that will give the latter an opportunity to share their research projects, reflective thinking essays, or portions of their dissertations under revision. All full-time faculty up to the rank of Assistant Professor or Librarian I and II who have been at Towson University three years or less are eligible to apply.

Faculty Research Fellowships
The College of Graduates Studies and Research, in collaboration with the deans of the academic colleges, is making available up to 15 Faculty Research Fellowships. These fellowships provide funding and other support for an individually designed program focused on a research mentorship model. Selected faculty members will be provided with up to two years of support of $3,000 each per year.
