Research and Funding Opportunities
Many resources are available to faculty, staff and students who seek research and funding opportunities. Towson University subscribes to four Web-based search engines – the Grant Resource Center (GRC), Community of Science (COS), and Illinois Researcher Information Service (IRIS), and the Grant Advisor Plus. Each engine is accessible online from faculty and staff desktops and can be searched by multiple criteria, including keywords, sponsor and deadline. While they are very similar, they complement each other.
- American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Grant Resource Center
(for login information contact the Office of University Research Services, 410-704-2236) - Community of Science
- Illinois Researcher Information Service (IRIS)
- The Grant Advisor Plus
The Office of University Research Services can help you identify appropriate funding opportunities and conduct funding searches. Our weekly newsletter, Alive Line, archived on our site, includes announcements of upcoming funding opportunities of broad interest, arranged by discipline. Stimulus funding opportunities and external funding links provide additional resources.
Through various intramural programs offered annually, Towson University provides support to Towson faculty in the form of monetary research awards, summer fellowships, teaching innovation grants, and research scholarship awards.
