Joyce works closely with commuter students to offer housing and civility education, rental guidance, and a host of other resources to promote student engagement and development under the mission of Student Activities. Commuter Appreciation Days, Off-Campus Living Fair, Good Morning/ Good Evening Commuters and Senior Experience are some of the signature events offered within Joyce’s office. In addition, Joyce oversees the Community Ambassador Program and advises the Commuter Student Organization. Joyce is excited about connecting with and being an advocate for commuter students. Joyce began her work with Student Affairs in 2001 as a student leader at her alma mater, West Virginia University. Since then, Joyce has served in both leadership and educational capacities at West Virginia University, Prince George’s Community College and Harford Community College. She holds a doctor of education degree in higher education leadership, master of arts in secondary education, and a bachelor of arts in English and literary studies.
