Fraternity aND Sorority Life

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life supports a learning community that inspires students to become involved outside of the classroom through Brotherhood and Sisterhood, a sense of community, character development, academic initiatives, leadership development programs, and service opportunities. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life's staff supports this mission by working collaboratively to encourage students to use integrity, while making academic and personal choices in addition to encouraging a healthy, safe, and fun environment.

Fraternities and sororities are values-based social organizations that have thrived on American college campuses for more than 200 years. Greek-letter organizations instill in their members the importance of maintaining high moral, social, and intellectual standards. Membership provides opportunities for:

  • Friendship
  • Academic excellence
  • Philanthropy

  • Community service

  • Leadership development

  • Campus involvement

  • Personal growth

  • Social development

  • Mentoring

  • Networking

  • Scholarships, grants and fellowships

Over thirty (30) fraternities and sororities comprise the Greek community at Towson University. This includes twenty (20) traditional fraternities and sororities, seven historically African American Greek-letter organizations, four multicultural groups, and five professional organizations. Membership is open to full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
