Additional Service-Learning Resources at Towson University
Towson University's Institute for Teaching and Research on Women- Service-Learning Connections
The Institute for Teaching and Research on Women at Towson University has developed resources to assist faculty in developing effective service-learning practices. In addition, the Institute created a "Handbook on Service-Learning" which provides the reader with numerous methods and examples of how service-learning can be incorporated into a wide array of courses.
Towson University has a new and innovative outreach web site to help faculty and students collaborate with each other and develop partnerships with the community. Faculty are able to use the site's Community Projects Database to search for existing university-community partnerships as well as upload information about their own work, including service-learning projects. The database is available to community organizations, students, and faculty and is a great resource to help facilitate service-learning relationships.
