Additional Service-Learning Resources at Towson University

Towson University's Institute for Teaching and Research on Women- Service-Learning Connections

The Institute for Teaching and Research on Women at Towson University has developed resources to assist faculty in developing effective service-learning practices. In addition, the Institute created a "Handbook on Service-Learning" which provides the reader with numerous methods and examples of how service-learning can be incorporated into a wide array of courses.

TU in the Community

Towson University has a new and innovative outreach website to help faculty and students collaborate with each other and develop partnerships with the community. Faculty are able to use the site's Community Projects Database to search for existing university-community partnerships as well as upload information about their own work, including service-learning projects. The database is available to community organizations, students and faculty and is a great resource to help facilitate service-learning relationships.

Cook Library

Service-learning books and publications are available at Albert S. Cook Library on the 4th floor at CL 220. The Reference Desk staff on the entrance floor can help identify useful resources.
